PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ๐ป
This week was exciting but tiring! ๐ฅ We started using fusion 360, which helps us design a 3D product. By the looks of it, using fusion to design a 3D product was easy, until... we started working on it. The first activity was designing our own personalised keychain with our names on it.

Andrew:
I was excited to use the fusion 360. Firstly, it is because I have not used fusion before. Secondly, developing a product seems fun and interesting. Being able to goof around with the myriad of functions and create your very own product. Through this activity, I am able to effectively learn about that fusion can do. Initially, I had problems using the functions, e.g. finding the functions. However, with time, I am able to location common functions for the fusion 360.
Junheng:
Fusion 360 gave me many issues at the start, however I was soon able to start on my project and complete it on time. I was able to utilise many of the functions that Fusion had and I realised the significance of design with Fusion in real world applications. The tutorials and videos that were showcased online by many creators also boosted my creativity in the making of my keychain. I feel that Fusion 360 is a great platform to use in terms of product designing.
Pi Ti:
The idea of being able to create something from scratch made the activity all the more enjoyable. I have tried a similar software before called AutoCAD but it was fun to learn the fundamentals of Fusion 360. I am starting to understand how every product, every design has a lot to consider for and to make something from nothing is a far-fetched dream. To make something, you need an idea first. Using the software helped me learn the basics behind 3D Printing and its importance to future products and ideas.
Cyane:
When I first downloaded fusion360, I had no idea on how to use this app as it is my first time using it. During lesson, I was confused at the beginning, even on the simple things such as drawing a rectangle. After some time with the given guide on blackboard, I managed to do it until step 9 - the part on offset - it was so confusing so I had to ask for Dr Noel's help, we had to go back from extruded design to the sketch which was not stated in the guide. However, this was my final product of my personalised keychain. Really proud of it as it is my very first product! ๐

After this experience, I came to realise that Fusion360 really help me visualise things/ products before constructing them, and that visualisation is important to every product development๐ป, so that we would be able to make amendments to improve it, so as to make the best product.
Photo Frame ✌
This is our last activity for the day! The Photo Frame! With much excitement, we meet right after class and discussed on the different designs we had in mind. We decided that our photo frame would look the same as the one given in the powerpoint slides, but with our own dimensions.
After discussing about the looks of the photo frame, we concluded our design and dimensions!! We then split the work load whereby each member is in-charge of 1 part of the photo frame.
The dimensions are as follows in the image below: ๐
Design idea:
Using Fusion 360:
Part A: White Acrylic sheet
Part B: Transparent Acrylic sheet
Part C: White Acrylic sheet
Part D: White Acrylic sheet
After this photo frame design, we concluded our Fusion360 activity!!
